New toys! – DEMS and TDS are in place

Our team “dislocation” stopped us for a while. But today the mission is complete, and the goal has been achieved.

This week we proved again that persistence is our middle name, we don’t corrode and break easily. But most importantly: we have loads of fun working together and supporting each other.

Big thanks to Michail, Muralidhar, GT-Workshop, GT-EHS department, and Engineers from Hiden Analytical.

Few moments…

Thanks Rina and Allen for dropping by – you are welcome any time!

Unboxing the boxes…

Installation begins….

Muralidhar and I were browsing through pictures of the unpacking and installation process ….yes, we are still away from our beautiful shinny lab :-/ The whole process was supervised and carefully documented by Michael. Now, we all look forward to operating the tools! There is so much to learn and discover together with our students!

Michail – we hope you had fun creating a part of the Baron-Lab story in Shantou! Thank you so much!

In presence of Dr. Michail Paraskevas

The boxes of joy have arrived!

The instruments getting delivered to the Baron-Lab… Merry Christmas!!

It is really happening! New scientific equipment is installed and tested in our laboratory. This is only possible thanks to our dear friend Dr. Michail Paraskevas. Michail took on this important project and became our man on the mission, supervising the installation of some complex instruments: DEMS, TDS and setup for anodizing.

Co-ordinated by Dr. Michail Paraskevas!

Geo-location and warm welcome to our students !

One thing we can say without hesitation about our group: we are truly international team!

Ying Zhang is our eyes and ears in Shantou, China. She takes care of the finishing touches in the Lab, updating us about how things progressing in the city. For the time being, she has replaced us with …..a chatty parrot! 🙂

Muralidhar in India, occupied with writing research proposals, looking for the best XRF for our lab and coaching our students online.

And I am in Poland, busy with teaching, writing and reviewing papers, and managing online smaller and bigger details related to the future of our lab.

It seems that we are having a bit long running start, but step by step we are approaching a critical mass. Thus, let me introduce you new members of our team: students from Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) program of Guangdong Technion, who have chosen our Lab to carry on Advanced Project (AP) in MSE program. You can visit students profiles in a “Team” section.

Welcome on board! We hope to meet you in the Baron Lab soon!
